52 Ancestors in 52 Weeks Challenge – January 7, 2025

I have many favorite photos, but this one is at the top of my list. It immediately draws me in. Maybe that’s because it looks like it could be a still frame from an old, romantic movie. I mean, when you look at it, can you not help but think, “now, there’s a love story.” The people captured in this photo are my husband’s great-grandparents, Roy Dee and Dona (Weddle) Bankhead. They were an ostensibly ordinary couple who, by all accounts, shared an extraordinary love.
